Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ'S)

Geology

Geology or Geoscience (also called Earth Science) is the study of Earth. Geology is much more than rocks, ore & minerals. It studies the processes that form and shape Earth's surface, the natural resources we use, and how water and ecosystems are interconnected. Geology  requires knowledge of physics, chemistry,  biology, and math to study earths resources.Add a short description.

Rocks

Rocks are generally made up of two of more minerals, mixed up through geological processes.  Add a short description.

Ores

Ore is a metalliferous mineral or an aggregate of metalliferous minerals and gangue (associated rock of no economic value), that can be mined at a profit.

Minerals

Minerals barring few exceptions, are  an inorganic substance occurring in nature that has a definite chemical composition  and distinctive physical properties or molecular structure. (One  exception ,coal,an organic substance  is also  a mineral.)

Mineral Exploration

Mineral Exploration is a series of dovetailing scientific activities to determine presence of ores or minerals over or under the surface.. If the exploration process identifies ores & minerals deposits that can  be economically extracted, then mining in the future may be possible. The chances of a mineral deposit becoming a mine are 1 in 100.

Mineral Deposit

Mineral Deposit is  a natural occurrence of a useful mineral, while Ore Deposit  denotes a mineral deposit of sufficient extent and concentration to invite exploitation.

Reconnoitery l Exploration

Reconnoitery Exploration  also known as  grassroots exploration is carried out to to firm up possible existence/extent of mineralization of target area  on a regional scale. This involves literature studies,  remote sensing, areal & ground geophysical survey , regional geological overview, mapping, chipping, sampling and analyses coupled with limited RC/DC  drilling to firm up possible existence/extent of mineralization.

Detailed Exploration

Detailed Exploration involves amalgamation of Reconnoitery exploration data  to create an exploration plan for exploration through RC/DC drilling at specific grids, logging, sampling, analyses ,RQD and use to outputs to prepare 3D ore body geometry followed by Resource & Reserve estimation and using them for mine planning.

Resource

Resource is that amount of a geologic commodity that exists in both discovered and undiscovered deposits—by definition, then, a “best guess.

Reserve

Reserves are that subgroup of a resource that have been discovered, have a known size, and can be extracted at a profit.

Mining

Mining is a process of extracting ores & minerals by mechanical, hydraulic or chemical means.More often than not it requires drilling, blasting, shovelling, trucking and crushing.

Critical Raw Materials (CRM)

Critical Raw Materials (CRM): These are the essential building blocks of industry and commerce. They are the lifeblood of manufacturing, and their scarcity or abundance can make or break an economy. Examples include rare earth elements, precious metals, and other vital commodities.

Strategic Raw Materials (SRM):

Strategic Raw Materials (SRM): These are the high-value, long-term resources that provide a competitive edge in the market. They are often associated with emerging technologies, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing. Examples include lithium, cobalt, and other key components of cutting-edge technologies.
